Internet, computer and social media for certain population

With the economic situation getting worse, there were more people losing their job and housing. The economic downtime is pushing more low-income people on to the streets. Some common causes that contribute to persons becoming homeless include lack of education and employable job skills. In this regard, will computer and Internet skill training help homeless people find a job, gain information and government services, and connect with others?  How can social media help them?
